Year 3 returned to the Academy engaged, positive and excited to work hard. On our first day back we had a surprise delivery! It was a brown paper parcel full of lots of strange items….. including a mammoth’s tooth and some smelly old dried out fish! We replied to the mysterious note included in the package and on Wednesday we solved the mystery and worked out the parcel was from a stone age boy! Our descriptive sentences were so amazing, they made Miss Forward say ‘wow’. In our maths Mrs William’s straws improved our understanding of tens and ones significantly and by the end of day two we could quite literally partition two and one digit numbers with our eyes closed! This term Columbus are looking forward to performing their class assembly about our topic ‘tribal tales’ and year 3 can’t wait to find out more about the stone age! We are all counting down the days to our trip to Everdone in the last week of term!
Year 3 Wow Days Summer 1
We hope that you all had a fantastic Easter Break! We would like to welcome back all our Year 3 children and let you know that this term our topic is ‘Urban Pioneers.' The children really enjoyed the WOW days which took place last week, where we looked at Urban ‘Graffiti’ Art. The children learnt different styles of Graffiti Font and they designed their own name using one of the styles. Their finished work has been added to a Graffiti wall in each clasroom.
