Moving on up!
Children in Year 2 had the oppurtunity to go and spend two days in year 3 and meet their new teachers and new classes! It was fantastic to see how well the children adapted and how engaged they were! Children were exposed to a variety of learning experiences including, art, maths, writing and team building activities! The children showed great understanding, learning all about their new topic 'The Stone Age' and they loved researching pre-historic creatures. Their extended pieces of writing they produced from their research was fanstastic. Demi explained how a sabre tooth tiger's eyes "were as bright as the shining sun" and Kamaran wrote a beautiful descriptive piece desrcribing a wolly mammoth as "as big as a giant with hairy brown fur and big dark eyes". The children loved thier text 'Cave Baby' by their favour authot 'Julia Donaldson' and really bought into the lessons, showing great enthusiasm. They produced fanstistic group painting just like Cave Baby's and these will be displayed next year! Miss Forward, Ms Williams and Miss Hughes can't wait to see you all again!
