In Year 2 this term, our ILP theme is 'wriggle and crawl'. We will be exploring animals and their habitats focusing predominantly on mini-beasts in our local environment! During the first two days of term, we focused on butterflies and bees! Children learnt all about symmetry through designing butterfly wings and we explored how bees make honey, and even made our own flapjacks using local honey! We learnt and performed our 'Butterfly' poem and we also created our own individual poems about butterflies.
Throughout the rest of the term, we will be learning about the life cycles of different insects, as well as their habitats and body parts. We have also been using our maths skills during our ILP, by exploring statics and data using mini beasts. We are really looking forward to developing our knowledge around this topic, as well as enhancing our skills across the curriculum!
